FeaturedCommentsTotal headcanon lunacy: I have this idea of people showing up here at the edge of a forest, then they walk out and quite a few of them end up on a park bench... at which point they open mysterious valises and puzzle over the few significant items and articles of clothing which have been chosen to accompany them. This came about because I was just writing fic fairly off for the heck of it and suddenly Valjean was on a park bench opening up a case. Inside the case he apparently found the Inseperable, some of his own clothes, and one other article... a confusing one that didn't initially belong to him...
I'm not sure I will ever write a suitable surrounding for this- so I may as well go ahead and say it was a certain hat.
I've been thinking this over for a while now, but what is the explanation for Jareth being here instead of the goblin kingdom?
Same as any other character being in the building instead of where they exist canonically: The Story is over.
Something that I've been wondering for a while: Where is Cosette in this 'verse? She must be out there somewhere- you can't have Valjean without her, really. I'd like to know how and how frequently they communicate, and so forth. (And yes, I would be curious about what she may or may not know regarding Javert.)
Officially, I don't have a definite answer. Head-canon wise, I suspect she's getting a graduate degree in social work while Marius finishes off his law degree and related examinations. Her father gave her his money as a wedding present, which she intends to use to help fund educational and community resources.
They probably write physical letters once a week, possibly e-mail or call every few days, depending on who is doing what. Valjean probably still hasn't figured out a way to bring it up, since he seems the kind to be happy to listen to her rant about her day and just reply with, "oh, same old, same old," when he himself is questioned. I think that after I finish EYS I may try and think up a way that it could all come together... it's just too good to pass over...
You are absolutely right about Valjean. So I was just listening to PotO. . . and I keep laughing damnit! Listened to the title track, laughed because of Jareth's insult to Erik regarding mirrors. Listened to Point of no Return, laughed because of the Raoul joke. Argh! Oh well.
