I am rather fond of the idea that every magical "court" has a theme. Some purview, if you will, that abstractly frames it. Jadis is, obviously, Winter. The Erlkonig is currently balancing somewhere between Summer, Forest, and Night. The Goblins are "unwanted".


Erik belongs to Leroux and Webber.
Jareth and Sarah belong to Henson, Lucas, Bowie and Connelly.
Norrington belongs to Disney, Bruckheimer, and Davenport.
Javert belongs to Hugo, Boublil, Schonberg, and Kretzmer.
Jadis belongs to Lewis.
Erlkönig is a mythological character and belongs to everyone and no one.

I believe it was a Grand Soul Gem. Has the Erlkonig been hanging out with Hircine? They do have somewhat similar tastes in head-wear.

Yeah, they still look like Grand Soul Gems, to me. He's like a Soul Gem Dispenser! A Mage's best friend! :D

Unlimited. Grand. Soul. Gems. I shall pay (almost) whatever price. (stupid shopkeepers, only having one every few months... The heck am I supposed to do with 50 petty soul gems, anyway? Waste of a good soul, is what that is.. Wonder if he could make black soul gems..? >:3)

Let me guess you don't read things like the Dresden Files? :giggle: I'll just say this: Making deals with the fae is dangerous. (Dresden even has a fairy godmother... he wishes he hasn't.) :D

Dresden's girlfriend made a bargain once with the guy's Fairy Godmother. Something for Dresden for a years worth of memory.

Panel Four and the last one are my absolute favorites. And James' comment just made me giggle...

I think the only thing that kept Jareth from punching the Erikonig in the face was that he brought them to him... That was a very wise move on his part.
