Roommates: Kings War 63 by AsheRhyder Roommates: Kings War 63 by AsheRhyder
Soundtrack for the next couple of pages: Heroes by MIKA.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time finding a good spot for this song, but it's such a powerful influence that I can't really let it go.

Erik belongs to Leroux and Webber.
Recognizable parts of the Labyrinth belong to Henson, Froud, and Lucas.
Norrington belongs to Disney, Bruckheimer, and Davenport.
Javert belongs to Hugo, Boublil, Schonberg, and Kretzmer.
Socks belongs to Story.

Mraaaaahhh! Socks! Mreh!
Jamie! You should know that someone intent on helping left to their own devices will find a way themselves!! *frustrative fingers*

Beautiful paneling and poses. And shading. No I will never be over your epic skills.

For a second I thought epic-cloaked-Eric was a black chicken... which would have had even mooore connotations...

well THAT'S counter-productive, James. Let the little guy help, huh? :D besides, you KNOW he's just gonna do it on his own anyway.......

Le Gasp! Socks honey, please don't do anything rash or impulsive... oh who am I kidding? That's probably EXACTLY what he's going to do. Oh my gosh, *covers eyes with fingers, cautiously peeking through them* I can't look!

Well, if a kid hero is told to stay put (or do chores or something mundane like that) (s)he has exactly one narrative choice: To disobey. Which most times either results in an adventure where adults are useless and (s)he has to save the day, or geting into trouble which in one way or another will motivate the adults (to help, to avenge, etc.)... or some combination of these two.

I kind of doubt Story had the "Adventure!" one in mind. :meow: Also... I'm sooo overdoing this.

For a second there, I thought panel 4 Eric was a chicken.
and panel 5 James is channeling so much Goblin King fabulousness.

But he made a deal explicitly to be a hero... (And I think this is a narrative paradox. :])
