Poor James! The Arthur comment is especially apt given what Arthur is - at his root, he is a failure, the herald of a grand new Idea who died as the great thing he had built fell down around his ears (the war that killed him split the Round Table in two, after all)
Oh... Jamie and Erik are giving me feeeeeels... Love the art here, it's so smooth and your HANDS are lovely. So very cool. I really enjoy how Javert can have all of one panel in a page and still steal the stage.
Well, at least Erik is helpful to James, and I'm guessing after living with Jareth for so long kind pays off. Perhaps James should call Calypso how to use "water based" magic since their magic are similar. >>;
Ill-conceived (in terms of manners, anyway) Arthurian metaphors aside, I like that Erik's got a fair handle on how magic works. In my head, it's one of those systems like music and math where natural aptitude for one can indicate natural aptitude for the other, and while Erik may be a mad genius with a lot of 'mad' under his belt... I like it when people remember the 'genius' part, too.
I think that magic and music kind of go together. You can learn in a classroom how music works and how to put it together, but it's not the same as actually listening to it. It might be the same with magic.
