In which the artist attempts to justify the various moments of OOC-ness for Jareth throughout the series.
Thanks everyone for reading Roommates! I'll try to keep the comics coming.
Quick question: Would you guys be interested in seeing quick sketch-like gags with the Roommates cast, or do you prefer the inked and structured comics?
Ah, that familiar fae-wisdom creeping into Jareth's character. Like with all trickster archetypes, you need to look at their words through a double sided mirror, so to speak; if you listen to "Within You" for just the words, it sounds as if Jareth is angry, or else determined to defeat her. But the way I hear it, it seems as if he's also voicing his love for her, saying how she's like no one else he's ever met ("I move the stars for no one.") and that if she won't have him, he'll do her cruelty in kind ("You're eyes can be so cruel." = You're too quick to judge, essentially.) Read this way, it's surprising that he says "within you" as opposed to "without you".
